Russia is rich in scientists who have made a great contribution to the development of science and various areas of human life. The aim of my project is to examine Zetlander’s opinion on the most influential Russian inventions. I have found a table with some data on this subject. In this essay I am going to analyse my findings.

 

As can be seen from the table, the invention of the radio is considered one of the most prominent Russian discoveries, highlighted by almost a third of Zetlands’ citizens (33%). The creation of television comes in second place, with 27% of respondents stating the importance of this scientific discovery. Another key feature is that only a small minority of people (3%) regard the discovery of modern powdered milk as a scientific breakthrough, making it the least influential invention.

 

The table also shows that creating a helicopter is twice as important as creating the synthetic polymer (25% and 12% respectively). It can be inferred that that Zetlanders believe that the creation and ongoing use of helicopters is far more valuable and practical for the public.

 

While people cannot imagine a progressive life without new scientific advances, they can face a serious problem. People in an attempt to make a remarkable discovery can become so obsessed with the process that they end up harming themselves and others. In order to avoid this problem, all scientific research processes must be clearly controlled and regulated.

 

In conclusion, I firmly believe that inventions play a great role in people's lives because scientific progress is the main factor driving the development of all mankind.
