New Year is one of the most popular holidays. The aim of the project I am currently working on is to explore how young people in Zetland celebrate this holiday. As part of my project, I have found a table with some data on the subject, which I am going to analyse.
As can be seen from the table, 68% of the respondents cite having a family dinner as the most popular way to celebrate New Year in Zetland. The next activity is going for a walk with friends. It comes in second place with 16%. Travelling to another city or country, mentioned by a small minority of youngsters (2%), is the least common way to celebrate the holiday.
The table also shows that going for a walk with friends, which is in second position with 16%, is almost twice as popular as having a party at friends' home. In fact, on New Year's Eve, young adults are more interested in attending city celebrations on the street, setting off and watching fireworks, rather than sitting at home.
One problem that may arise with celebrating New Year is that people can get injured while setting off fireworks. The best way to solve this problem is to follow the safety rules and move far away from the fireworks launch site.
In conclusion, I am sure that having a family dinner is the best way of celebrating New Year because it brings loved ones together and creates cherished memories.
