There are many sources where teenage boys and girls can get information. The aim of my project is to examine the sources of information adolescents in Zetland use most often. I have found a table with some data on this issue. In this essay I am going to comment on my findings.
As can be seen from the table, 40% of the respondents use Internet sites and apps, making it the most popular source of information among young people in Zetland. Friends come in second place with 24%. Newspapers and magazines, cited by a small minority of teenagers (7%), is the least common source of information.
The table also shows that friends as the source of information are almost twice as popular as school teachers (24% and 14% respectively). This is obvious because youngsters generally communicate and exchange information more with their peers than with school teachers.
One problem that can arise with ways of getting information is the prevalence of fake news in today's digital age. This can lead to individuals forming inaccurate beliefs. To address this issue, it is crucial to cultivate critical thinking skills and adopt a skeptical approach towards the information people encounter.
In conclusion, I believe that the Internet is the best way of getting information, since the speed of searching for information is predominantly high.
